It is with great sadness that the Union des Photographes Professionnels has learned of the death of Jean-Daniel Sudres, taken by an illness that did not give him time to suffer too much.
The Union des Photographes Professionnels, through the voice of its Board of Directors, sends its most sincere condolences to the members of his family, and associates itself with their grief.
His colleague and friend, Jacques Sierpinski, pays tribute to him in the following terms:
"Jean-Daniel and I have shared a life dedicated to photography since we first met in 1979, when he was artistic director of Cap Théojac publishing house.
At the same time, we joined the SCOPE photographic agency, and then followed a similar path, working together for the press and publishing houses.
Jean-Daniel was a great professional, and I owe many of my contacts to him. He was generous, utopian, and dreamed of another world...
He gave his all for his profession, and fought long and hard within the associations that represent us, such as SAIF and UPP, to ensure that photographers' rights were respected.
He's also a friend...hello friend!"
