The one-stop shop, your company's single administrative management point
Since January 1, 2023, France has centralized all the administrative procedures associated with business life on a single platform: the Guichet unique des formalités d'entreprises. Whether you're planning to start up, change your status, move or close your business, this is now the essential tool for simplifying your formalities. It replaces the Centre de formalités des entreprises and the chambres des métiers, which are no longer responsible for handling your files.
1. What is a one-stop shop?
The one-stop shop is an online platform that brings together in a single location all the formalities involved in setting up, modifying or closing a business, whatever the type.
For example, this is where you can register your business. Once your file has been validated, the platform takes care of transmitting the information to the various organizations concerned:
- INSEE will give you your Siren and Siret numbers, as well as your APE code (which, for photographers, is generally 74.20Z).
- URSSAF to manage your social security contributions.
- Tax services for tax issues (VAT, income tax).
- The Registre National des Entreprises (RNE), which replaces the old registers (RNCS, RM, etc.).
2. How to use the one-stop shop.
- Create your user account
Go to formalites.entreprises.gouv.fr.
You will need to create a personal account as a "declarant". This is a unique account that you will use for all future procedures.
- Launch of a "formality
Once you've logged in, you can access your dashboard. This is where you start a new formality. The platform will then guide you through a series of questions to help you understand your needs:
"Declaration of activity" for a launch.
"Modification d'entreprise" for a change (relocation, new status, modification of your social and tax options, etc.).
"Cessation d'activité" to close your business.
3. Filling in the form
Registering :
Select "Declaration of activity".
Fill in your personal information.
Choose your status: usually sole proprietorship (EI).
Indicate your main activity ("Photography") and your specializations.
If you choose the A.A. status, check the artist-author box in the "company activity" section.
Choose your tax options: declaration under the micro scheme / special scheme or under the actual scheme / controlled declaration (to deduct your professional expenses), VAT liability or not.

Take on dual status:
Salaried + EI: If you already have a salaried job, the procedure is the same as for setting up a new business. All you need to do is indicate that you are already in salaried employment.
IF you are already a craftsman and wish to add an AA activity (or vice versa) at the same address, select "company modification" and add an activity to your main establishment.
Moving or changing your social and tax options:
Select "Company modification".
If you're moving, update your main address.
For social/tax options, the platform lets you change your choice (e.g., opt for controlled declaration or VAT) and notify the relevant authorities.
Closing your business :
Select "Cessation of activity".
You will need to enter the effective date of cessation. The platform takes care of deregistering your company with the various registries and organizations.
4. In case of difficulty
The site features a FAQ and a conversational assistant to answer your questions.
You can contact INPI Direct by telephone on 01 56 65 89 98.
