Graduating from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1998, Letizia Le Fur initially trained as a painter. Encouraged by artist and teacher Valérie Belin, she soon turned her aesthetic quest towards photography.
Her writing, with its highly personal use of color and particular attention to composition, is always somewhere between reality and fiction. Inspired by classical painting, fascinated by mythology and nature, she leads a reflexion on the representation of beauty. In 2018, she won the Leica/Alpine Prize. She creates a carte blanche through a road trip that will give rise to an exhibition at Galerie Leica. Editions "This is not a map" publishes her in the form of a photographic roadmap.
She is part of the residencies at the Planche(s) Contact Festival in Deauville 2020.

The same year, she wins the 1st Prize of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie for the Fenêtre ouverte competition, which rewards work produced during the confinement. In 2021, she will be part of the group exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, "30 femmes photographes luttent contre le cancer du sein", curated by Béatrice Andrieux. In September 2021, she will be at the Cadaques Festival for the restitution of an artistic residency.
Since 2019, she has been a Leica ambassador. Her Agent Marie Valat has been with her since 2008.
We welcome her to talk about her latest monograph, "Mythologie", published by "Rue du Bouquet". This series is on view from May 20 to July 17 2021 at the "Laure Roynette" gallery, 20 rue de thorigny, Paris.
"Mythology" is an initiatory tale, at once profoundly intimate and universal, that questions our relationship with Nature and beauty through a free reinterpretation of Greek myths.

The series also allows her to question her own photographic practice and, as she puts it, "an attempt to rehabilitate the male nude through the prism of women.
